Lille, France – March 13 2025 – Audiovisual Producers Finland (APFI) and the Swedish Institute, in collaboration with Göteborg Film Festival’s TV Division and The Swedish Film & TV Producers Association, proudly present the ‘Coming Next from Sweden & Finland’ a premier drama showcase at Series Mania Forum 2025. This exclusive event highlights six brand-new drama series, crafted by some of the most acclaimed production companies in the Nordic region, once again bringing fresh and compelling storytelling to the global market.
The showcase, taking place on March 25th at 11:00 AM in Room 3.2 at Lille Grand Palais, will offer industry professionals a first look at a hand-picked selection of upcoming high-caliber drama projects from Sweden and Finland, spanning crime, mystery, coming-of-age, and historical fiction. The event will be followed by a networking lunch at Salon Rouge, an opportunity for collaboration between Nordic creators and international industry executives.

This year’s selection features projects from powerhouse production companies such as Filmlance International AB (The Bridge, Top Dog), Aamu Film Company (Compartment No. 6), and Harmonica Films AB (The Truth Will Out). These new series showcase bold storytelling, international collaborations, and some of the region’s most exciting emerging and established talent.

Aftershave (Finland) – A Dazzling Dive into Helsinki’s 90s Underground Nightlife
Produced by Oy Rabbit Films Ltd, this 6×45′ drama-comedy series brings to life the struggles and triumphs of four drag queens during Finland’s deepest recession. Created by Anna Brotkin, Aftershave explores friendship, ambition, and survival in a glittering yet unforgiving world. Currently in development, the project is seeking financing, co-production, distribution, and broadcasting partners.
My Brother (Jag for ner till bror) (Sweden) – A Mystery Drama
Produced by Filmlance International AB and co-produced with SVT, Filmpool Nord, and Lunanime, this 4×45′ series follows Jana Kippo’s return to her small hometown to save her brother, only to become entangled in a mystery surrounding a man suspected of murder. Written by Karin Arrhenius, the series is in production and is looking for international sales through Trust Nordisk.
Yours, Margot (Finland/Germany) – An Interwoven Tale of Love, Loss, and Secrets
Produced by Aamu Film Company in collaboration with Achtung Panda, this 6×45′ drama explores a daughter’s quest to uncover her father’s hidden past in 1980s East Berlin. Directed by Juho Kuosmanen, the series, currently in development, is seeking financing and broadcasters.
Summer of 1985 (Sweden) – A Coming-of-Age Drama with a Supernatural Twist
Produced by Media Res Studio, this 6×45′ series follows a group of friends whose summer in the Stockholm archipelago is upended by the discovery of a mythical creature. Written by Björn Stein, Amy Deasismont, and Melina Maraki, the series is in pre-production and seeking distribution partners.
Torna a Surriento (Finland/Italy) – A Culture Clash Crime Drama
Produced by Whatevergroup and co-produced by Viola Films, Rein Films, and Glassriver, this 4×25′ drama follows a Neapolitan hustler who inherits an estate in Finnish Lapland, only to uncover dark secrets. Written by Guglielmo Finazzer, Dario Carraturo, Jens Martin Mienna, and Aleksi Puranen, the series is currently in pre-production, looking for financing and sales partners.
Till Death Do Us Part (Tills döden skiljer oss) (Sweden) – A Legal Thriller Full of Twists
Produced by Harmonica Films AB and co-produced by TV4, ZDF, SF Studios Production, and Film Stockholm, this 6×45′ crime thriller follows a woman whose loyalty is tested when her husband is accused of murder. Created by Veronica Zacco, the series will soon be in production from the 17th March and looking for sales partners. Dynamic Television handles international distribution.
